It’s not rare for a record company to release a compilation after one of their best selling groups break up. What is rare is for a record company to release a compilation featuring no singles, which is exactly what happened here.
With the exception of Traintime, all of the tracks are from Fresh Cream and Disreali Gears, and were it not for the album art and my lack of Fresh Cream, I would never play this record. The arrangement of the tracks is strange, jumping from psychedelic to traditional acoustic blues, then back to more experimental tracks, creating a disjointed and uneven experience. But, like I mentioned, the cover is pretty rad.
