And the gaps in my Fugazi collection continue to grow smaller (one remains, if you’re not counting Instrument Soundtrack as a true album, which I don’t). Margin Walker, their second EP, sees the fearless foursome showing a drastic leap forward in composition that makes Repeater look like a step back.
The first side plays through the three tracks without stopping. The second half features grooves that would fit nicely tucked in between songs on In On the Killtaker. And the album ends with Ian McKaye shouting “Promises! Promises! Promises! Words,” which Aaron Weiss of mewithoutYou (one of my all time favorite bands) quoted on their debut EP.
